Course: EU Medical response and humanitarian aid mechanisms / EU Civil Protection and Humanitarian Action

The course will focus on the EU’s efforts for quick medical assistance and the public health expertise from all EU Member State as well as Participating States in health emergency, inside and outside the EU. The course will work on the role and the influence of other international organizations such as WHO, NATO and the UN, analyzing their interactions and synergies with the EU. During this course, the Postgraduate students will be able to investigate the situation in Developing countries after the EU relevant contribution and medical support. Moreover, this course will include lectures on the culture of different organizations involved in response to emergences /crises, such as the EU/ECHO, OCHA, NGOs civil protection Units, along with their experience on the ground and the lessons learned in various crisis situations.
